Description
At the start of the year, I was so determined that I was going to fill my garden with as many flowers as I could, including lots of sunflowers. Well things never quite worked out like I planned and I was just a little bit late sowing some sunflower seeds. As the summer came and went, there really only seemed to be one sunflower that achieved any size, but it still hadn't flowered. Luckily it did manage to flower in the second week of September. It was a glorious vibrant yellow as most sunflowers are, but they never cease to amaze me. Just when I thought that I would not see a sunflower as beautiful as last years, this one decided to prove me wrong and show me why these wonderful flowers are one of the most spectacular plants that you can grow. It was definitely the sunflower of the year, at least in my garden.
